Snapchat Remakes Itself, Splitting the Social From the Media


Snapchat has abandoned the single news feed in favour of seperate feeds for social posts and content from publishers. “While blurring the lines between professional content creators and your friends has been an interesting internet experiment, it has also produced some strange side effects (like fake news) and made us feel like we have to perform for our friends rather than just express ourselves,” Evan Spiegel, Snap’s chief executive, said in a blog post about the redesign. It’s an interesting experiment that may also open up the platform to new opportunities for brands to play with Snapchat-friendly content.
